Greenway Clean-up

Friends of the Tri-Community Greenway will sponsor a clean-up day on parts of the railway right-of-way on June 4th, as part of National Trails Day. Volunteers will meet at the parking lot on the south side of Walgreens on Main Street, Stoneham at 9:00 am.  The morning’s clean-up work will start behind Stop & Shop on Williams Street and move towards Montvale Avenue.

Volunteers from the community are  welcome.  Proper footwear, pants, long-sleeved shirts and gloves are urged as there may be poison ivy on parts of the path.    We will have bags and some gloves but volunteers are urged to bring their own equipment such as rakes, hoes, loppers, etc. Please label them with your name to make sure everyone gets their stuff back.

The 6.7 mile future Greenway runs from Recreation Park in Stoneham, through Woburn and Winchester to Wedgemere Station in Winchester.  There is also a spur that runs to Horn Pond in Woburn.
